PETROCHEMICALS
PETROLOGISTICS
VEC will be associated with S&B in the detailed engineering activities of a Propylene Unit – a grass root plant awarded to S&B E&C and coming up at Petrologistics Pasadena, Texas. The Plant is being designed to produce Propylene on a continuous basis. The Catofin Reactor System converts propane to propylene over a fixed-bed chromia - alumina catalyst. The reactor effluent is cooled, compressed and fed to compression and recovery systems, where propylene is recovered as product and the unconverted propane is recycled to the Catofin Reactors. The plant is capable of producing two grades of Propylene viz., Polymer Grade and Chemical Grade. The process licensor of the Catofin Process is ABB. |
